Rehearsals/ rehearsal schedule

 Here is a copy of our current rehearsal schedule which provides us with a rough outline and timings of when we are going to rehearse and explain to each character their role in the music video and the choreography they will need to learn before half term. For me I feel the organisation is very important when creating music video making sure that everything is prepared before the day and nothing has rushed. I feel that if we rehearse the scenes before the day aspects of the music video will go so much smoother and we will not waste any time deciding what they will be doing and the act has been confused. Something I was feel very passionately about ensuring that the actors/dancers feel informed throughout the process. Not knowing what they're doing or getting choreography late will create a humongous amount of stress. Therefore it is crucial that we stay organised and inform them of all the pieces information they need to know.  

Here is our schedule: 

I will send the schedule soon once I've had confirmation from a few people of availability and we will purely run off this timetable in terms of making sure everything stays in order and we don't get behind. First rehearsal starts on Monday with Matilde our protagonist artist. We will go through everything with her of what she will be doing and explaining her intentions in the scene such as dominance, superiority and confidence. Again this will mean when it comes to shoot day Matilde will know exactly what she's doing. 

Then on the Wednesday it will be a choreography sent today. I've organised it so the times are during free time when no one has rehearsals or anything else on. We will spend about half an hour going through the choreography which Rachel and Seb have created for us from our description of the style of dance and look we would like. Jonty will then learn this choreography with Rachel and then she can leave then Seb and Keir will come and learn there bit. One thing I was very cautious about making this rehearsal schedule is that a lot of these people have a lot of other commitments and A-levels coming up therefore I don't want to take too much of their time.

Costume list

 Another aspect of pre production planning we have completed this week has been the costume list created by Mimi.

This costume list is very helpful as it contains links and pictures that make our idea is very specific and clear to each other.

Some of the links to items have already been bought or going to be bought soon if not are supplied by our school costume designer lady. 

I also sent an email to Elizabeth our costume lady trying to organise a day to try all of the costumes before half term so we can figure our what we need to supply and what works well. I also asked her about the braces and the ties which we use in the production I did at our school a year ago to see if we can save ourselves from not buying more costume. 

I have also scheduled a meeting with the two male dancers in our cast to measure the inside of their legs and waist for costumes so Elizabeth can alter them to their exact body type, this will ensure a perfect fit.

Here are some of the piece of jewellery I have bought: 

We have decided not to buy lots of jewellery as we want to use the jewellery repeatedly in different scenes to show the audience that this is her star look backing up her 'dolled up' glamours star persona.

Set and props list

This week has been another week full of preproduction planning to ensure that we are ready for a shoot day.

 Zoe and I creating a set and props list with visual images and references to who is borrowing or buying the items or whether in fact it is our set designer who is supplying the props. By adding visual images as references it insures that the set designer and other people in our group are on the same mindset of what objects and props we are gathering. This hopefully means that no one will buy anything that isn't what  the other person expected and turns out to be useless therefore being extra cautious especially with the low budget we have as a group. Here is the table displayed below: 

This is something in which has pushed us as a group forward after having a slight 'brick wall moment' and has significant driven us forward into buying props and beginning the collecting process. Already, I have purchased some jewellery and mimi from my group has bought the red jumpsuit and Zoe has bought 3000 petals for our bath scene.

Set Design Meeting

 Here is YouTube video that I made explaining the conversations we had in the set design meeting and what we need to do before our next meeting and shoot day: 

What our group has done to prepare for our music video:

 The first thing that I did was I created a table of all the timings of the song for the specific shot and what the transitions are going to be for each set up. On this table I also included what you will see in the shots and also what key props we may need. This I thought was very important as when it comes to the shoot day we will know exactly what to film and tick of what we have filmed so we make sure not to miss anything. Here is the table: 

Myself and Mimi then also created a costume powerpoint, to ensure we are organised and provide all the costumes before the day and have a stress of forgetting one: 

Zoe in our group then edited clips from music videos that had similar visual elements to our ideas for our music video. Our teacher Luke also asked us to create this pilot to see how the shots would form when all together. I felt that this was a very good idea to make such a video as we can now see what we need in terms of props and set ups and perhaps any set ups that are to repetitive or that don't work at that moment in the music video. What I learnt in my lighting workshop on Friday
